Absolutely. I ran into an issue with a bicolor blenny that fancied the taste of SPS. I won't ever make that mistake again . I also hope the corals will be showcased somewhat, so the fish will take a secondary role of movement.....but the fish are showcase to the kids and for company that doesn't know much about corals . I wanted to have some fish that were "different", too....hence the black onyx true percs and the magnificant rabbitfish.

How many fish

My tank is a 55 gallon with about 60lbs of live rock. For fish it has 1 yellow tang,1 marroon clown fish,3 blue green chromis,1 medium copperband butterfly fish,1 royal gamma. I don't intend on replacing any if they should have misfortune befall them. I would like to concentrate more on inverts and corals in the future.

I have 3 green chromis on the main tank. On my QT I have 1 scopas tang, 1 yellow watchman goby. My clown die on me 2 days a go. Still want to add another sand shifter fish and one more hair algie eater. Any good sugestions? The fish I got to have will be the mandarin fish but my tank is too young still.

12 fish in a 90 gallon. I liked fish only to start out. Started out fwlro. Got some corals. another skimmer. a halide and VHO lights. 7+ years later = fwlr and corals? I believe this is too many fish to ever hope of having any sps though. I have lots of zoos, mush and leathers. constant battle w/water quality. All is healthy though!

How do the fish get along gdwats2 ? Do you notice any aggression ? What do you do regularly to maintain good water quality ? I'm sure running 2 skimmers helps, which one's do you use ? Do you have any large fish ?

I know someone who has one of every clownfish in his tank and he says there's no aggression...hard to believe but it's true this guy has been in the hobby a long time and somehow he makes it work. I'm sure with that many fish there's no territory to fight over

This is a 75gal tank with an incredible 29 fish in it
To say this tank is overstocked would be an understatement but it looks awesome, I just don't know how some people do it. I added a Regal Tang in a moderately stocked tank and he wanted to kill everybody.

Great Thread!

Setting up a 75 gallon, 90lbs. fiji LR, Macro for nutrient export, and heavy skimming. Would like to put in the following fish:

3x Amphiron Percula (True Percula Clowns)
1x Centropyge loriculus (Flame Angel)
3x Pseudanthias squamipinnis (Lyretail Anthias)
1x Ctenochaetus strigosus (Kole Tang)
1x Acanthurus leucosternon (Powder Blue Tang)

How does that sound?

In my 90, I currently have one banggai cardinal, a carpenter's flasher wrasse, royal gramma, and a banded pipefish. I plan on getting a dwarf angel and maybe a gobie or two somewhere down the line, but I'm in no hurry.

The Acanthurus leucosternon (Powder Blue Tang) likes to swim and usually is recommended for at least a 120 and can get real aggressive especially in smaller quarters but it has been done before. I do like your planned methods of nutrient export

BTW Tarasco how does the Banded pipefish do with it's tankmates ? Is it easily intimidated ? That's a real cool fish.

Yeah that was my one concern, so to try and minimize the risk of aggressiveness I would introduce him with the kole tang and flame angel at the same time, so there wouldn't be too many disputes... hopefully And if worse comes to worse, and he gets to aggressive, back to the LFS for him.

thanks for the compliments!
