| Tunicate | fish question I wanted to get a manderine fish and the guy at the store that he would give me some little small shrimp that live in your tank that he and 6 line wrasse will eat. The name started with an "A". Was wondering if they were good to put in my reef tank i have a with a yellow eyed kole tang, coral beauty, saddle back clown, and a 6 line wrasse. I wanted to make sure because the guy at the store will sell you anything so he's not a good sourse for answeres. |

| Neon dottyback | how old, big, and how much live rock do u have in ur tank, mandrins need an established tank with at least 100# LR and with ur other fish, i dont no if i would try it, due to aggression issues and territory, unless u have a big tank, 100g or more with a fuge, to keep the pod population up. | Neon dottyback | like hurterd 67 said you need a well established tank perferibly a 100 or more but your 75 with 100lbs of rock might do iif it has been set up for a while there food source is pods there for in a new tank they will slowly starve I heard of some people getting them to eat blood worms but that's a long shot I'd stay away from them if your tank is not well established as far as getting along with the outher fish shouldn't be a problem |

| Reef Lobster ![]() | The LFS was probably talking about artemia... A glorified (well, the correct scientific) term for brine shrimp. Typically they are not considered to be of very high nutritional value, although I have seen conflicting reports. However, if you have a 6 line, I would advise against a mandarin. The six line does enough damage to a pod population on its own, and could make keeping a mandarin VERY difficult. If you are willing to spend the money on buying pods, or if the mandarin will eat the artemia (and maintain health and weight) then perhaps it is doable but probably not advisable... Take er easy Scott T.

| Torch coral | You have to buy copepods at www.oceanpods.com for your mandarin. |
