What is your most intersting fish behavior?

I have a Strawberry Psuedochromis that resides in my refugium. When my water is at the high water mark there is about 1/8" flow over the baffle and a 1" gap on the bottom of the next baffle that makes up the return chamber.

The SP will jump the first baffle and then swim down and under the next baffle and hang out with the Mag 7. At feeding time when I add water to the refugium, it swims back and jumps back over the baffle to join the Sleepr Banded Gobis for dinner.

Now let's hear your fish tales!

We have a Dusky Jawfish that every once and awhile likes to come out of his hole and make an escape into the overflow. Other than that, no one else has done anything out of the ordinary. YET!

Well, this is my latest most interesting fish/anemone interaction... when I feed flake the Clarkii greedily grabs some and brings it back to his anemone to eat in peace... so he thinks. The anemone grabs it and they bicker like an old married couple over the piece of flake. the anemone wins every time.

Before that, I captured my tomato clown's behavior and managed to have it turned into that month's reefslides.

I got about 2.5weeks ago a genicanthus semifasciatus or masked angelfish and this fish had resided at the LFS for over 6 weeks. I even talked to the LFS owner this morning and he said they got 6 fish in, 5 were sold and this female stayed there being babied by the employees.

Now where the behavior comes in. This fish is as gentle and sweet as a puppy. She will watch for me to walk up to or by the tank and swims as I walk by the tank. Begging me to stop and see her. She will allow me to pet her and feeding is a joke as she gets most of the food away from the other fish. She is so rare as I have found out but as sweet as they come.

Well, I noticed this evening that my yellow tang can sense when my tomato clown will poop. The tang stuck it's "beak" right up to the clown's poop shoot and...well, you can imagine. I did laugh pretty loud though. I was wondering why they have been hanging out side by side for the past couple of weeks. The tang will gently brush up against the clown's BTA, like it wants to cuddle...or just eat more poop. No joke.

i say this as my best advice to a beginner. do not,,,and i repeat,,,,,DO NOT look at my tank as an example....i have a well practised eye, decades of experience, and a trunkload of failures to allow me to force the issue and get away with things most cannot~

I have a purple tang that fights with it's reflection from the back glass I will not complain because it never bothers any other fish since it's too busy!

I have a bicolor blenny that waits for the motorized ballvalve to turn off, it then swims into the locline and sits thier with its head poking out. It will sit thier and wait for the ball valve to turn over again and then it shoots the fish across the tank. The kids have named him Evil Knevil

LOL Mike...thats awesome!

When I had a fish only, I had a Picasso Trigger that acted just like a dog. Would come up to the surface at feeding time, lay on its side, and let me pet it all wihle it ate its meal. Its a shame triggers aren't reef safe, they have some great personalities...

Take er easy
