| Torch coral ![]() | Thinking of adding some fish... I currently have a 210gal with an Orange Shoulder, Naso, Black Longnose, and 4 percs. I had a Niger, a Pineapple (LFS's name for it, never figured out what it was), and a rectangle before this tank. Well the wife and I went to Hawaii and went diving and saw all the triggers and really missed them. So I was thinking of adding a Niger to the tank. SO my concern is, is that going to be to much fish because I would like to add a couple of gobies also. The wife wants a schooling fish and all the ones she wants are going to get to big so the LFS has 2 yellow watchman gobies paired in a tank and she said she could live with that. So, is a niger and 2 gobies to much fish for my tank? (The niger is only 2" right now a lot smaller than the other fish, except one perc) Also, what are some good gobies (colorful) that will actually clean the sand? I know about the Lawnmower blennies, dragon goby, etc... but those are pretty much black and white. Sorry so long. Wanted to make sure I got everything out. TIA |

| They misunderestimated me ![]() | Is this a full blown reef tank or a fowlr? If it is a reef tank and you plan on keep your inverts I would stay away from the Niger. Personally I like the Blue Jaw Triggers. You could get a male and female blue jaw and make the waife happy also. If it is a reef tank, then yes I think it is pushing the bioload, but of course this depends on the filtration. My main concern would be the sheer size that the naso can get. That guy in addition to the triggers would be quite a hit to the bioload on your tank. Mike

| Torch coral ![]() | I only want to get one trigger and 2 gobies. You made it sound like I wanted more triggers. It is a "reef" tank. I have 5 anemones (2 large, 3 small 4" and smaller), some button polyps, and star polyps, and a small colony of frogspawn. I had a Niger and he never ate any of my snails before. I don't plan on getting any more coral anytime soon. Now the rectangle destroyed my snail population. I even had shrimp in there and the niger never bothered them. I have a Tidewater Sump (not tidepool) that is rated for 500gal, an HSA skimmer from MTC that up to 500gal. I have over 250 lbs. of LR and about 160 lbs. of LS. I do monthly h2o changes of ~ 60gals. By the time everyone is grown, wouldn't my tank be mature enough to handle it? It is 10 months right now. The LR and LS came from my old tanks which were over a year each. Any more thoughts on the subject? Sorry , has anyone ever heard of or had a Bursa Trigger? TIA

| They misunderestimated me ![]() | I just think that the Niger would be to hit or miss to risk adding to a reef tank. Some are very well behaved, others are totally the opposite. A bursa will love your tank, but you won't love it back He will devour everything in site, inverts and maybe small fish included.IMO, triggers in this genus are more compatible for a reef setup http://www.wetwebmedia.com/marine/fi.../xanthichthys/ HTH a little bit. BTW, when I went to Japan and stopped by the Aquarium in Yokohama they had a tank with probably 20 or so crosshatch triggers. Amazing site. And I think adding a male and female bluethroat might be a cool addition still ![]()
