| Tunicate | help with clown I just got small/medium small picasso clowns last week (thursday) and put them in my 20 gallon tank, both of them have been acting normal up until 2 days ago. Yesterday I noticed that they were starting to fight a little but today they were fighting a little more and the smaller of the two seems to be getting really stressed. He is squeezing himself between a rock and the tank wall and he just sits there (sometimes almost completely resting on the sand) He is also breathing faster than before but he still acts ok when I walk by the tank. (gets out of his spot and starts swimming around) This doesn't seem normal, what should I do? btw the parameters are fine. There are only a few small coral frags in the tank with them, no other fish. thanks. |

| Tubeworm | Re: help with clown He sounds stressed, you could pull them out rearrange the tank and re introduce them at the same time so there not fighting for territory

| Reef Lobster | Re: help with clown Based on your description, I would consider separating them at this point. You don't always get a good "match" and the smaller can die from the stress.

| The Wand Geek was here. ;) ![]() | Re: help with clown Never allow either to sustain damage or go without eating. Quarrelling is very normal but if it gets severe, you could put the dominant one in a breeder net (in the tank) for a few weeks. Release it later and try again. This 'tiime out' will allow the other to rest and eat. If they are both juveniles, they will get along eventually. It is just a matter of time.
