| My fishes' cycle of hate Well I have a grand total of 3 Damsels in my tank and one clown. One unknown type of Damsel(another thread will hopefully take care of that), two 3 striped ones, and a false Percula clown. When I first got the unknown Damsel and the clown, the clown was mean to the Damsel. Well the Damsel, after he got the same size as the clown, he was mean to the clown. Then they settled down after a few weeks. Then roughly a few months later, I got the other 2. The clown has mean to them at first then they were fine after a few weeks too. Then it was the unknown damsel's turn. He did the same for a few weeks, then he stopped. Once the 2 little ones started growing, some how, some time, the littlest Damsel got beat up or something, I not sure, all I know is that the stripe along his head got messed up, aka missing scales and has looked different since. Now the little ones are at it again. The littlest one gets picked on by the larger of the smallest Damsels. After a while, I'm guessing the clown is playing nanny or just gets tired, goes and tries to separate them by chasing or nipping the larger smallest to get him away from the littlest one. Its crazy. I'm not really sure why they go through this cycle. It's like a rotation, they go through this every few months. Any ideas? Time out in another tank only works for so long. |
