| Fish Addict ![]() | Which fish??? Thinkin' bout gettin a new fish, but can't decide which kind. I've had my eye on a canary blenny (less than $20), a mystery wrasse (lfs had one for $60 a couple days ago) or other wrasse, or possibly a dwarf angel, or some chromis. Also looking for other suggestions, you can see my stock list in my signature. I am down to one cardinal tho, cause one was picking on the other, but I didn't notice till it was too late ![]() Thanks

| Fish Addict ![]() | Also considering a tang, but I don't think there's any that'd thrive in a 50.

| The Wand Geek was here. ;) ![]() | Well, you have approx 20" of fish (adult size) in your 55 gal now; that is 2.75 gal per 1" of fish. What is the recommended gal/fish anyway?

| Reef Lobster | Only problem with canary blennies is they have fangs and a poisonous bite... I dunno if I'd want to stick my hand in the tank with something like that in there. ![]() Your best bet is to stick to fish that stay small... a watermelon or possum wrasse would be a nice addition and possibly can help with any flatworms that creep into the tank when you're not looking... ![]() Like others have suggested, you're nearing the limit of your fish bioload, so you don't want to add too much... the bioload may be fine while the system is running, but if it's shut down for any extended period (like during an outage), that's when problems with being overstocked will show up (aside from territoriality issues of course). HTH.

| Fish Addict ![]() | Tho I wasn't really looking for a debate on my bioload, but anyways, I got the canary blenny today. I'll watch out for it, and make sure to wear arm lenght thick gloves ![]() I have my skimmer and an aquaclear 201 ph on a battery backup, so if the power goes out, I'll have a little over 300gph running for up to 1/2 hour.

| Fish Addict ![]() | Workin' on it When I first put him in, he was begging for food, but when he realized he wasn't getting any today, he went and hid in a rock.

| Fish Addict ![]() | I think he's dead I haven't seen him in a week. He only hid in one rock that I saw, which was a larger rock that I just recently added a day before the blenny went in, I think it might have a predator crab in it or something that killed it. My clown goby also dissapeared around the same time, and I haven't seen it either, and he hung around the same rock.![]()
