My guess is that your water is significantly different in some respect then what he is used to, and he's not adjusting to it as well as the other one. I'd test your alk as well, and be very wary of adding buffer if your alk is already high.

If you see any cloudiness or sloughing of the skin, I'd highly expect brooklynella, but so far I don't see any symptom of that besides the breathing and not eating.

As for the dog in the background...I'm guessing Lhasa or shih-zu?
haha for the dog in the background, its a Toy poodle lol. He the oddest dog!.
now what do you mean by the "cloudinness or sloughing of the skin"?

Re: Is he okay?

Update on my clown, not to hijack this thread Andre.

My clown is now acting like yours on permalink 17. This is the second day not eating, stays swimming in one spot, breathing heavier than normal.

All water levels are fine.
SG 1.025
Nitrates, Nitrites, Amm all 0
pH 8.3
Cal 420 (no corals in the tank yet)

Clown is not picked on by anyone, he shares the 14g with 1 goby and cleaner crew.

Other than that, she appears to be healthy, no lumps, bumps, spots or anything. Maybe just a tummy ache?

Will watch and see, unless someone else has info to help.

Thanks,

Re: Is he okay?

I'd get all wild caught clowns in a QT and treat for brooklynella whether you see symptoms or not. Since losing a few myself, I'm convinced that any wild caught clowns are an extreme risk. I don't just say this from my experience, but from following other threads similar to this one as well.

Re: Is he okay?

I think mine were tank bred, I have to ask. I am unsure if he is ok again,
im seeing him have back spots all over his body, both of them like allergies lol. I googled it and seems like it is
"Hyper-Melaninization".
-an essence, the fish has come into contact with a coral or anemone or other such invertebrate that has stung or injured the fish. The fish isn't 'ill' per se only those portions of the skin have changed their pigmentation."
The only stinging thing they could
the thing is I don't really have anything that stings except for aiptisia popping backup again. its hard to notice it on the other one because he is already pretty dark. they get pretty close to the rocks, they will be fine right?
