| Social Darwinism victim | Maroon clownfish details -- barring Q Alright, so I've been able to spot tomatoes that will have the yellow in the stripe and those that wil not. And they're usually labeled in the LFSes anyway. BUT when I google or ask about maroons with yellow stripes I get nowhere adn blank looks, respectively. I have a maroon who has slimmer white bars -- actually he's a misbar -- how do you tell if a maroon is going to be a yellow stripe or not? Is there some physical characteristic I can look for? I'd really like to get mine a buddy. He loves his 'nem and my tank is finally OK after a rust leaking incident. Thanks. Everybody's having babies. I'm jealous!!

| Golden Moray | Re: Maroon clownfish details -- barring Q All maroon clowns are of the same species... Some call them GSM's, or WSM's... but they are all the same species. I have one with yellow bars, and one with white bars... I am under the impression however that it may be an age thing.. Most of the larger ones I see have gold stripes... the smaller ones.. white stripes.. I may be wrong though.. but I do know.. there is only one species of maroon clown. Heres mine: Male: ![]() Male and female: ![]() Jason

| Torch coral | Re: Maroon clownfish details -- barring Q I think if the maroons are going to have yellow stripes they will have them from the get go. Mine has changed color drastically in the last 2 months, but you can see from the before and after pics that the stripes were always yellow - When the fish was younger the white edges were a little more pronounced but I would think that if you had to look for any defining characteristic, look for a yellow hue in the white stripes of a baby. ![]() same fish 2 months later - the yellow is a tiny bit more pronounced I guess but not too much. ![]()
