I Want Another Fishy!!!!

here are the pre reqs.

peaceful (wont hurt my firefish)

fast (evades bane)

Water column fish (evades bane)

and, not as important as the others, but a podinator would be nice.

here are some of my considerations;

Saltwater Aquarium Fish for Marine Aquariums: Zebra Barred Dartfish

Saltwater Aquarium Fish for Marine Aquariums: Firefish, Purple

Saltwater Aquarium Fish for Marine Aquariums: Court Jester Goby

Saltwater Aquarium Fish for Marine Aquariums: Clown Goby, Green

Saltwater Aquarium Fish for Marine Reef Aquariums: Bicolor Blenny (big maybe)

Saltwater Aquarium Corals for Marine Reef Aquariums: Neon Blue Goby - Tank-Bred

I love clown gobies so that would be an awesome choice. I did recently add a really cool and very fast fish to one of our tanks. He is a little bitty thing and pretty much hangs out in his home in the rocks. He has adorable lips that look like he is wearing lipstick and big big eyes. As soon as food hits the watter, he zips out at incredible speed then back home and repeat. We call him Speedy Gonzales. He is a barnacle blenny if you are interrested. We really love ours.

I have a cardinal fish which stays all over the water column and is fast when need be. I also have a green clown goby who has fast bursts but not that fast and not for long. Likes to perch and is not as active as the cardinal.

I dont know what a bane is though. Assuming clown goby may get to close to a bane if its something it can perch on.

My avitar pic is of my new litttle clown goby, look at those teeth! Grrrrrrrrr. I named him Shrek.

Also, I have a purple firefish. look at my chronical. They are so much more beautiful than the regular red ones (IMO). So much color. It burrows under a rock and stays pretty close to that rock when swimming around. Dont know if it will get along very well with another firefish if its not a male/female. It never rests on anything so if that bane thingy is non-moving then should be ok.

I also have one of the purple firefish and if you like your regulat one I'd say thats a definite option. I had both together for a little bit but for an unknown reason the regular firefish died.

Oh ok, then I would go with the cardinal fish even though you idnt list that because the clown goby and the firefish's like to hang out on the rocks and sand so Bane will be able to get to them. The cardinal is always going to be swimming around in the water column. I really do enjoy the banggai cardnial fish, they are only silver and black but I think it is very attractive. My B&W clown used to try and school with my cardinal...

You must have a timid mantis. Seems nuts to me to keep any of those fish with a mantis.

I'm thinking court jester is your best bet.
Most of the gobies rest on the rocks and I'm thinking that is an open invitation to bane.
I'm waiting to see how this goes.
My Khan needs a playmate. lol

I dig the dart fish even if Kathy likes it also.
My new friend down the block has one and it was the first i have ever seen. It has a cave just like a jawfish! Very cool.

ah man they have a court jester goby @ my LFS.....

hes TINY though!!! like only an inch. but by golly hes a pretty fish!

i want him soooo bad!! but i just dont know!!

i have the clown goby and a bi color blenny. both are pretty fun fish to watch although they sit and watch the world go by 80% of the time.
