I got him on hold right now.

im starting to doubt this decesion.

i cant really set up a QT, and he sure is small.

and id be breaking a golden mantis tank rule; "NO FISH OVER $20.00"

ah man, he sure is neat lookin though!

i dont know what ima gonna do!

Inflation, Bob. Mantis rule might need to be upped to say, $35.

yea, Bane's gonna eat 2 full deli shrimp (small pieces daily) before homie hits the water.

he ate a nice chunk of deli shrimp, a hermit, and a emerald crab yesterday.

by friday he should be too fat and lathargic to give much chase...

but im more worried about no qt.....

Can you get a 10g with a canister filter and put tank water into it (call it a water change for Bane)? That's how I've usually done it.

You worried about disease?

What other fish do you have in there Bob?

I'm not sure, but there shouldn't be a pathogen you could transfer from fish to shrimp.
And your tank is small enough if you HAD to treat the fish you could capture and QT then in a 5 gallon bucket. ($3 at home depot).

Impulse issues, ah yes. THOSE guys.
That guy tricked me into half my reef inhabitants.

I've been lucky on QT. I haven't QT'd anyone.
My coral beauty had signs of ick, but was and is an extremely healthy fish and has been very happy in m 55g bucket of the ocean.
Got some kind of seaslug with some GSP, but they are gone. Hand picked out.
Only thing now is the pyramid snails on my snails. Too many to hand pick.
I think the 6 line is keeping them in check. Don't think I would have caught them on QT though.

It is a gamble.

well, yesterday for the first hour or so he explored all his new glass walls, then he started following my firefish around.

then i got distracted for a few hours, and he dissapeared...

i expect him to be thuroughly searching all his new hidey holes for a few days.

but he does seem fast
