| Star Polyps | hey all So I purchased a Midas Blenny for my 65 gallon reef tank about a week ago. Now I notice that my 2 maroon dartfish and 1 purple dartfish stay hidden. I read in a few places that say midas blennies can sometimes nip the fins of the dartfish. I also have 2 scissor tail gobies that stay hidden to now. I know its the blenny because everytime the little guys do come out they see the blenny and there gone in a flash. Thats the only thing that i can imagine would be scaring them. Do you think i should take the blenny back and get something different or give it time and see if the little guys would start to come out more down the road??? |

| Torch coral | Re: hey all My dartfish (pruple) hides a lot and all there is in there with him is a cardinal fish! He just likes to stay in his hole until feeding time for the most part.

| Star Polyps | Re: hey all mine never used to hide and neither did all my other fish. Im just wondering how long i should give it until i make the call to remove him. Im thinking that in another week if the others are not out more then im going to take him out and see if they come out again. |

| Star Polyps | Re: hey all so just an update, I have taken the blenny back to the store and purchased a different fish. One maroon dartfish was killed and the other is doing good. both the maroon and purple are out and swimming around daily now, been about 4 days. the scissortail gobies are also out again. I feel good about the decision i made, and hopefully will one day be able to get another midas. |
