| Bryozoan | Clownfish Question Could I keep a pair of true percula clownfish in the same tank as a pair of black and white Ocellaris without much hostility. The tank is a 72" long and 18" wide, 125 gallon tank. Last edited by SamMag : 02-10-2008 at 12:47 PM. |

| Limpet | Re: Clownfish Question My reef shop told me not to mix clowns. In other words, no; do not keep percs. with ocellaris. Is your question rooted around the fact that one pair is black while the other is orange and so they may not recognize each other? I know they told me not to put percs with maroons, so maybe that will guide your decision. |

| Neon dottyback | Re: Clownfish Question I read that you should not keep different species in a tank together as they will fight. However you can keep different colored species together as they do not recognize colors. An example would be keeping the balck and white ocellaris with the orange and white is ok but not a perc. black and white with a ocellaris orange and white or other color perc. But this is just what I have read... I looked into it because I wanted a black and white and my fiance wanted the traditional orange and white.

| Limpet | Re: Clownfish Question Last night I was at the reef shop buying another fish. There they have oscillaris orange clowns. I aksed the guy if they ever had black ocillaris and if they mixed them with the orange what happened. He said that once they had about 10 blacks and 20-25 orange. He said it was not a pretty site. Like the bloods and the cryps in the same neighborhood. |
