Re: Crosshatches

I bought "that" pair from live aquaria about 5 months ago ( have to eat ramen for the next year) . So far so good. Havent eaten any of my shrimp or hermits, been model citizens. They sure are MESSY though.
I cant wait till one gets scared and SMASHES through my SPS corals ! HAHA

Re: Crosshatches

I have to admit, the tank is undersized for these too. Thats the problem with buying stuff via the internet, sight unseen. Yes, they are BEAST, especially the male.
Tank is 8 feet long, and about 300 gallons with the sump.

Re: Crosshatches

I have been looking at that pair for a while I would love to put them in my new tank, but I am trying to keep a light bio-load. They sure are pretty though. Plus I love my shrimp.

Re: Crosshatches

Agreed Crosshatches are beautiful triggers they do get large & create a bio load out of this world that would be my concern before trashing sps

They dont eat shrimp at all. Yah, bioload is rough. I am running two Aqua c 180 skimmers in my tank at the same time. Heres the male.

Re: Crosshatches

One of the coolest tanks I've seen was at the Yokohama Sea Park, A huge tank about 10 foot across 6 feet high and a good 4-5 feet deep, with 15-20 crosshatch triggers swimming around in it. Didn't have a digi cam back then and the photos I took on my film cam never came out. I need to schedule a trip to go back there just to take photos of those triggers with my digital now.
And visit some LFS's, and visit Akihabara to pick up some other toys...

Re: Crosshatches

beautiful
I'm not worried about the bioload....I'm sure my skimmer is large enough to handle it
