| Plate Coral | Chromis not eating. ive had a single reef chromis for over a month now and he has always hidden in the back because he is by himself I was coerced into buying him to "cycle" my tank. Ok so he has been eating flake food sine i got him but recently he hasn't gone up to the top to get any. I have had an explosion of amphipods can he be eating those and just not be hungry for flake food?

| Golden Moray | Re: Chromis not eating. I keep 11 chromis currently... like you said... they like groups of three or more... preferably an uneven group. That said... it's peculiar that it's not eating... even if there is some other food source. I know chromis to be greedy little guys that would eat untill their bellies literally pop. Any signs of illness? |

| Yoda Poohbah~ ![]() | Re: Chromis not eating. chromis are a schooling fish. if not in a group they are SCARED. i would either get more, or take him back. if its a small tank the former, small the latter.

| Bryozoan | Re: Chromis not eating. I started off with 6 chromis, added them all at once, and they mysteriously dwindled down to 4, and those 4 eventually stopped schooling and just hid all the time and didn't seem to be eating very well. I just removed all of them from my main reef tank and put them in a 29 I have, all by themselves, and so far, they are still hiding. This could be to the new environment, still adjusting, etc... I know this doesn't really answer your question, but just some info, hope it helps. Good luck!
