| Star Polyps | Re: lawnmower blenny while on the topic of lawnmower blennies and your question answered, i just wanted to say you made a good choice. not only are they practical, but they have a lot of personality(at least mine does) i guess it's kind of odd that out of all the colorful and unique "normal" fish in my tank this guy's my favorite.

| Totally stoked dude ![]() | Re: lawnmower blenny Here is a little tip I learned when I first got in the hobby for feeding herbivorous marine fish. It can be done with either live rock or clam/oyster shell. Get some nori (dried seaweed) get it nice and wet in a bowl (ro/di water) until it is kind of mushy. Some folks add selcon or garlic to this mixture as well. Scoop it out onto the live rock or into the clam/oyster shell. Throw in the oven at low temp to let it dry out. Once it's dried up, let it cool off in the fridge (you can make a weeks worth like this) and just throw the rock or shell in at feeding time. Other variations include putting a slight bit of gelatin in the mix before putting on the rock to keep it adhered better when it goes in the water. This way also lets you avoid the baking process and possible nutritional degradation from heat.
