I got my Man!

Well, Friday was a day I had an excuse to reward myself and so I did. After a day of running around trying to tie up loose ends with businesses and fighting with Estate things I decided to get it...My Mandarine!

SO there I was trying my best to keep my car from going on auto-pilot to the nearest LFS, but you know how that is..a car gets something on its mind and you have no control. Kind of like the corals and things that hop in our cars at the LFS. OK, I gave in, let my car take me to the LFS I went into the LFS and I found one I liked, got him, got more pods to put in my little pod farm I had set up a few weeks ago and some other things I needed. Brought him home, had a disaster after acclimating him and ended up having to put him in the main tank...

This picture is not good at all, but if I ever see him again I will take another picture.

Re: I got my Man!

Very nice fish! Congratulations! I REALLY want one, as does my wife, but we are waiting until I get the huge refugium/sump completed and let everything settle in for a few months after that.

Now! About your title! How about a picture of the MAN you got? Aren't you interested in knowing whether we approve or not?

Re: I got my Man!

I think I should start pondering over some of the thread starter lines that I am creating, huh? You put them together, what can I say I have a sense of humor...

well the disaster with the MANdarin was once I got him home and acclimated to the small QT tank I had...everything going fine, he was swimming around, looking at his new temp home, looking as pretty as can be. I sat mesmerized watching him and when I went to get up I couldn't move very well, that happens when I sit for any length of time, (injuries) well the knees wouldn't bend, the pain shot up and down my legs into my back and to finish a long story about shooting pain, misery, aching, blah blah blah, the little QT tank somehow ended on the floor along with my new little Mandarin I waited a year and a half for. I managed to get him up and had to get him in the main tank...he sat there for awhile, probably trying to figure out what in the world he had gotten himself into and then after awhile he swam away into the tunnels and caves of LR. I do see him in the mornings in the safety of the rock, and I saw him venture out a little (before I turned on lights) to grab some live brine I threw in there, so far so good. Poor little guy is probably so traumatized he doesn't want to be seen...

Thank you Heinz. Great little video clip . I love it.

Thanks to everyone else for the well wishes and for those of you waiting for that first Mandarin...it is worth the wait. Even if I don't get to see mine much (yet) the glimpses I catch are well worth it.

Re: I got my Man!

Somebody bent forward and twisted at the same time. She didn't even know that she did it. A lumbar vertebra got stuck out of place (to oversimplify it). Now she needs a chiropractor.

Glad your manderine is ok. Hope you will be too.

Re: I got my Man!

Aweeeeeee! Poor little guy. The 5 second rule not only applies to food on the floor, but it also extends to fish! My BSJF jumped out of the tank onto the floor several months ago. She is still with me today!

Congratulations on your new man...darin!

I’m terribly sorry..... roughly all things come to those who wait, my mandarins too are scarcely visible.

Re: I got my Man!

Thanks Scott for the name Darin......I am surprised I didn't see that ---I like playing with words...My Man--Darin! Anyway, Just an update...I see my Man---darin in the mornings before I turn on the lights. I have gotten some pics of him peeking through the rocks which I will post when I get a better one of him. So far so good and it is good to know he is alive and well after the disaster....
