Strawberry Dottyback does not like his new friend

My Strawberry Dottyback and Goby aren't getting along. I just add my Strawberry Dottyback yesterday. They're both in a 12 gallon.

Help!

The tank is likely too small for them to co-exist. Since a clown has a totally different body shape so I would think you would be better off there.
Be carefil though. You are treading in the land of overstocked with both fish in a 12g. Be sure to have a good skimmer and do lots of water changes.

clownlover,

How come you have such small tanks? 12 gallons, 10 gallons? You seem rather new to the hobby...why did you start out with such small tanks?

Re: Strawberry Dottyback does not like his new friend

Dottybacks are very territorial and in such a small tank it's a very bad idea to mix them with other smaller fish. These fish really belong with other larger fish that won't eat them not in a small tank with less aggressive sp. IMHO.

Re: Strawberry Dottyback does not like his new friend

when i first started out i had a clown and a watchman goby, a dufus at my LFS told me that the strawberry psuedo would fit in well. I added him, loved the coloration, and he was a terror. I, after a horrible 4 hours, finnaly bagged him and took him back and demanded an even swap for something more peaceful. They are mean little guys!!!
