Can You Id My New Tang?

i got this from aquatic reef yesterday.....




can anyone id it?

1.20 G pico RR with 2 megaflow kits, aqua c EV180 with mag12, 2x250 DE 12k halides with 2x54 T5 actinic+, 30G phlenum fuge with chaeto, iwaki 55rlt return pump connected to a sea swirl, 4 tunze 6025 inside the main tank for water circulation (2 are modded) 3 Koralias PH(2 #4's and 1 #3)
sps,lps,zoas,softies,pink tip BTA
tangs - yellow, unicorn, blue hippo, palini and RS Purple
Blue Spot Jaw Fish
red lyretail anthias
pair of spotted mandarin goby
wrasse - yellow corris
scribble rabbit fish
Clown Fish -3 percula
high fin shrimp goby
clean up crew - various snails and crabs, red linkia star
And a 30G AGA softies with clown & diamond head goby

Looks most like a juvie Atlantic Blue Tang, Acanthurus coeruleus

could also be a Mimic Tang aka Chocolate Tang, Acanthurus pyroferus

hopefully someone can back me up on this one

looks like a mimic tang to me.

75 gallon reeftank w/30 gallon sump, 10 gallon topoff, 20 gallon saltwater mix tank and a 5g QT. 5 MJ1200s, 1 MAG 9.5 Return, 4X48" HO T5s. Tank is on a 400w backup powersupply and the topoff tank is fed by a RO/DI unit.

it was sold as a hybrid blue tang, but only payed 30 for it.

The juvenile Atlantic Blue tang is yellow. It turns blue when it matures. Nice fish. Price is about right. A very common fish in the Caribbean area.

That looks like an Atlantic Blue (juv). However, after I saw a hybrid-scopas/yellow zebrasoma AND a hybrid-achilles/gold rim; I'm not surprised.

Very nice tang. Hybrids are very beautiful.

not likely. I know for a fact that, that IS not a yellow mimic. I used to have one of those mimics and the colours were drab and the body shapes of both are different.
