Tobacco bass

I have a 75 gal reef with mostly LPS and soft corals. Currently my only fish are a 6 line wrasse, lawnmower blenny and a juv engineer blenny. I think its time to add another fish and was considering a tobacco bass.
I just got back from a dive trip and spent a lot of time watching these fish. I'd like to get one unless they will be a problem for the other fish or the corals.

they are cool, but yes the tobacco should be fine in your setup....they are both extremely hardy!

Re: Tobacco bass

I have not seen a chalk bass, thanks for the pic. I'm are really wanting a tobacco bass and will probably go ahead a get one. I just added a sailfin blenny, so I'm gonna wait awhile before adding another fish. That will give me some more time to research the tobacco bass a bit more.

Re: Tobacco bass

I would get that engineer goby out though, they can get up to one foot long and take up a lot of your bio load. Also the chalk basses are cool and they do school so you could put three of them in there!

I have a chalk bass. So far it's been a great addition.

Re: Tobacco bass

I love my engineer goby. It looks like an eel but it isn't. It is one of the fastest growing fish I have however. He has gone from about 2 to about 5 inches in 6 months.
