Clowns Courting???

hey guys, so i have added my new little male clown, who still has his 2nd stripe, and this shows that its a juvy cinnamon clown, got him from exoticfish.com and he's great.
Anyway, my female swam right over and was overall gentle, then they both kind of started "shivering" and would almost line up head-to-toe and then do it again...

is this common?

any signs i should look for to see if they are or will pair up???

i taped a picture of two cinnamon clowns in an anemone on the glass tohelp aid them in their courtship as well

Re: Clowns Courting???

Sounds like typical behavior as they figure out who is dominant. Don't really think it is "courtship" as much as figuring out who is boss. One she gets him in line they don't really do that as much.

LOL. Thanks Kathy I needed a laugh! LOL

I agree that it is probably more likely that they are establishing dominance. You know, who is doing dishes and taking out the garbage. Stuff like that.
Once they get that hammered out and he says "yes dear" then they can get down to business.

Although, I think my clowns have decided to just be friends. Its him not her. lol

They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend and they are. They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. Mine do the shimmy thing at each other too. And the female will dive bomb the male too. Sometimes if I feed them something special, the female will come over and shimmy at me and do a clicking thing. I haven't heard the male click.

yeah, she was clicking too, no idea what it was but i had never heard it before. Its either one thing or the complete opposite:
"Get the Hell out of here"
or
"Come here Baby!!!"

Re: Clowns Courting???

They like to hide in the back behind the rocks and sleep. If I peek back there, the girl flips her tail at me and shimmies...like, hey get outta my dressing room.
