my tank is topless. don't like the looks of the canopy and like the fact that having an open top will give you a good evaporation rate.

Re: radiant wrsse

Look for a mummified Radiant wrasse behind, around or under your tank. It would be unusual for such an active fish to go missing for a month.

Topless is a prime candidate for "El Fisho El Flyo"

Even fish that aren't normally known to be "jumpers" can get spooked and fly out. I lost one last year (butterfly fish) and just thought it had been "consumed" by something else in the tank. I moved the stand about 6 months later and it had gotten out of the tank and wedged itself under the very tiny lip of the stand. If I had to bet before hand I would have bet GOOD $$ that it wouldn't even FIT under there... I had even been down on my hands and knees with a flahslight and still missed it. If you must go topless I would suggest some egg-crate to help keep em IN the tank.

When in doubt... wait it out. This means take it slow and let the tank "develop" and don't rush it. Time is your friend

Wrasses have the reputation of hidin for weeks even through water changes if you cant find ya fish around on the ground (outsied the tank) he aint(shouldnt) be dead. The only thing to do is wait for him. Dont say something is dead unless u see it dead!

I have had many different Wrasses and these are some of the most active fish you'll see and if he's hiding for weeks there's definitely something wrong !

Re: radiant wrsse

How do you know he is hiding for weeks?Unless you watch your tank 24/7 you might just be unlucky.
