| Tubeworm | I looked into my tank today and noticed that my male Maroon clown was attacking the female. I attempted to remove the nasty boy from the tank but he is quite small and cowered under the rock. I have removed her and placed her into onother small tank i have but her fins are quite damaged and she doesn't look to well. I was told they were a mated pair when i purchased them and they have been in the tank now for quite some time with no hassles. What would be the contributing factors to the male attacking her? Being i am new to this im not sure but will her fins repair? She is fairly big and was a gorgeous fish, now she doesn't look her radiant self. Also, should i ever put the two back together? A couple more questions, does anyone here have a Sohol Tang? I have stumbled across a photo of one and they look simply amazing. If anyone does, are they a good fish to have in a small reef tank? Can anyone suggest some good bright coloured fish that would suit. Thanks, Ryan |

| The Wand Geek was here. ;) ![]() | Re: Help! My Maroon's are fighting! You have acquired a taste for mean fish (sohal and maroons) ![]() I would treat the female in a CYCLED QT using an antibiotic for 7 days. No, do not mix the two again. It sounds as though your 'male' is morphing into a 'female'.

| Sunshine Reefer ![]() | Re: Help! My Maroon's are fighting! Sohals are arguably the most agressive of the tangs and tangs are generally considered agressive fish. I would only have one in a very large agressive tank. Maroons stay smaller and are not as agressive as the Sohal, but they certainly can be nasty. Also you mention you want to know a fish for a small tank? How small and what else do you have in the tank. Tangs for instance all require a larger tank. Depending on your tank size they may be out of the question to begin with. The recommendation for tanks is no less than a 4ft 75g tank and that is the absolute smallest. I have 2 tangs in a 6 ft 125 and am going to need to either upgrade the tank or find a new home for them in the next year or two.
