The good thing about most of these species is that they have a sort of "shell" if you will, to protect them, if the predator manages to only remove part of this protective shell, some of the specimen is still recoverable, so they do have a good chance of surviving in some more harsh environments, but the owner needs to be ready for an emergency fragging if they come across a predator.

Lets just say I've done a little research on these wonderful canes

Wow, Wit, quite a discovery!! I will be interested in how well this one does in captivity.

However, I'm concerned about a problem....ummmm, Wit? I think you are the only one that can handle this one:

So Wit they must release a sperm type fluid or is that a transparent slime coating that protects them while in the act? Interesting study I see here!

please be forwarned these types of canes cannot coexist with certian fish.they seem to be an irresistable treat, and are devoured quite fast.keep them in a separate tank to be safe......

from a secret deep water lab - mass breeding of multi-colored canes. this thereby dispells the believe of separate species of canes, but all are merely color morphs!!

but even in these deep waters there are many predators, the mass breeding attacted this big-eyed shark.
