What am I? Please help ID...

???

The coral in these pictures has a purple pimple face on one side of the rock and a group of polyps on the other. I am guessing there are two different animals here. Please take a look and help me ID.

Thanks!

I dunno, looks like an SPS to me. The usual suspects are pavona, porites (don;t think so) and encrusting montipora.

I'll let some of the SPS gurus take it from there... LOL

Thanks.

I was thinking encrusting montipora but Ive only seen pictures of it...never (in person). It's got some really fine orange fuzz in and around the pimples...almost looks like some type of tentacle or maybe a polyp.

Maybe someone with exp with encrusting montipora can shed some light on that observation.

Thanks, again, for the help!!

Well, it looks like Montipora verrucosa but I'm not much of an expert on SPS, lol. If it looks velvety or like it has peach fuzz, it's most likely a Montipora of some sp. or other.
