| Neon dottyback | cowry Hope i can explain this 1...lol, i had a clam like shell with ridges on it, it had milkish white foot sticking out of it holding on to the rock actually looked like a clam, the milkish part ran along both sides, i have cowries in the tank, but they dont look like that. it went back inside the rock. | Golden Moray | Please explain the clam-like shell part. Did it have an opening at the top? Some limpets look like one half of a clam.

| Neon dottyback | yea it had opening just like a clam, i could see the flesh part on both sides, the shell had ridges going long ways all the down and its a tanish color. its still in the same spot in the rock. Thanks Curt Glenn

| Golden Moray | Glenn, Flesh parts on both sides tends to make me think of a cowrie. The white foot thing had me thinking it was a limpet. I thought I might have figured it out but I don't think so anymore. Let's think on this a bit. Anyone have any ideas???

| Neon dottyback | I was looking at pics of cowries, and they had smooth shells and the ridges looked something like this vvvv all the way across and down in rows, im trying to get ahold of a good digi cam to use and try to catch it out again. Thanks Curt Glenn
