| Neon dottyback | This weird crimson branch plant has been growing out of a piece of my LR for 2 weeks now. Anyone know what this is? It is soft to the touch like a normal plant. The stuff you see on it is debris since I just basted my rocks. ![]()

| Neon dottyback | Crimson MACRO?? I have this in little patches growing on the same rock. What is this stuff? It branches in a strange way and is slow growing. Sorry for the quality of the pic. I am getting my new digital camera sometime in the next couple weeks. So, I can get a better pic then.

| Neon dottyback | Well, it is definitely a Rhodophyta of some kind. Which particular one, I am not sure. I guess it will become more evident as it matures. http://www.wetwebmedia.com/redalgae.htm

| Golden Moray ![]() | Hmmm ... Rhodophyta is a fairly broad ID - given that that includes all red algaes. I'd say maybe a Gracilaria sp? Not 100% sure, but it looks close. Gracilaria - John Rice's Reef Page
