chris i have seen them too on my glass a while back, i dont think you can do anything to insure thier survival though you just have to let nature take it's course. i think some will live and some wont. i know i have noticed new small snails before but dont know if they were born in the tank or hitchiked on a coral or rock.

Have any Cerith snails? These look a lot like Cerith eggs. Ours don't leave such a symmetrical pattern:

But I've seen severals pics of Cerith eggs trails which look exacctly like yours.
HTH!

My ceriths do that on a daily basis, however, my clowns eat them as they appear, same with my scooter blenny. Those are cerith snail eggs, I'm almost positive. RL, I don't think your snail in that pic is a cerith tho, maybe a different strain or something, cause all the ceriths I've ever seen are black with a more smooth round shell with white spots, but same shape length wise.

My cerith's look exactly like ReefLady's. They lay their eggs in a crazy pattern as well.
