Question WHat is this????

I found this on my front glass of my 10g this morning. It changes shape, etc. Is it a Flatworm?? It's huge! Half the size of my thumb!

OK, It doesn't look like any of the flatworms I've seen.. Is this a seaslug? What the heck is it??

I would guess a flatworm or nudibranch of some sort. It's hard to tell when only looking at the bottom.

It is VERY flat. The only part that comes up are what looks like the area with it's central organs. It has two very very short black antennae looking things near one "end". This doesn't look like a typical nudibranch at all. I am totally stumped!

It also has red "speckles"

Good Link, Keeping links like that is a good habit, now keeping them filed properly is one of my bad faults, I usually just dump them all in one location & never can find it when needed.

I would hate to kill it. It is such a fascinating looking creature. It's been exploring my glass and I haven't noticed any deaths in the tank of Snails or Crustaceans. It really seems more interested in the algae on my glass. Strange.

It probably is a Polyclad Flatworm. That is certainly what it looks like.

Other people said it looks like a Nudibranch, too. But this one looks a lot like a Polyclad Flatworm. Not sure at all, though.

Well, it has disappeared by now down to the substrate. I tried to get a pic of it's top, but it is so white that it was too much for my webcam to capture any detail. Digital camera... someday.. Maybe in June

Look at the pic in this link: http://www.hawaiisfishes.com/inverts...ylean1_JPG.htm

It's a Polyclad Flatworm. The internal structure is identical... now why couldn't I get one of the colorful ones??

As stated it is a Polyclad flatworm. It is not a nuke, as it has no branchial lobes or rhiophores. It looks like one of the Pericelids, such as Pericelis sp
