| Neon dottyback | Saw a worm comming out of my rock, it was big. it had. i think black and white bands when i shined the light on it, it contracted like a slinky, i looked on the critter id, but didnt see nothing like it it also had something like spikes on the front of it. thanx all Glenn |

| Reef Lobster ![]() | Its a peanut worm, harmless... I will try to find a few links... Take er easy Scott T. Here is a link with a cool video And here is one I had in my tank: Essentially, its base is inside the rock and you are just seeing its mouth...

| Reef Lobster ![]() | Actually, I might be wrong now that I reread your description.. It had spikes on the front and it moved from the rock to the sandbed? Did it look anything like that picture? Peanut worms usually just feed by using their mouth, keeping their body in the rock and so it wouldn't think it would move from rock to sandbed... Hmm... you might really have a mystery worm if it is not a bristle worm

| Neon dottyback | I have 1 in there that looks like that, but this 1 was huge, it stuck out of the rock bout 4", waving its front back n forth, then it retracted when i shined the lite on it, started looking again it was on the SB part way out, doin the same thing. ill look for it again tonight, also think a couple of my snails r gone to.
