i say this as my best advice to a beginner. do not,,,and i repeat,,,,,DO NOT look at my tank as an example....i have a well practised eye, decades of experience, and a trunkload of failures to allow me to force the issue and get away with things most cannot~

Definitely looks like a Nudi - the soft coral eating kind.

If that's what it is, they make their diet of soft corals -- Xenia, Colt, etc.

Weird. I actually touched this thing and it seemed like it was made out of pure calcium. It didn't seem alive and it didn't react to my touch. Dust actually came off of it. Then it was gone the next morning.
