Re: Baby clam or mussel?

I have absolutely no idea. Did you find it as a HH in your tank? That is very very cool.
The id experts will wake up soon and hopefully be able to answer.

Awesome Hitch-Hikers...
To me it looks like you have a baby mussel, and some sponges.

Re: Baby clam or mussel?

Picture #1 & #2 appear to be a juvenile Turkey Wing clam or similar species, indigenous to warm, tropical waters of the Caribbean.

Pitures #3 & #4 Are most definately Chicken Liver sponges also indigenous to the Caribbean.

Where did the new LR come from?

Re: Baby clam or mussel?

New store in Fullerton, CA(Orange county). Being on the west coast I doubt it's from the Caribbean. Is there anywhere in the Caribbean that is even legal to collect from? I think the guy said it was all Fiji live rock.

Re: Baby clam or mussel?

You cannot collect Live Rock from Florida Waters. But there are many places in the Caribbean that LR is collected from.

OK then, you may have a File clam.
