Re: Are these Hydroids?

I just googled hydroids and come up with some nice pics of hydroids. I think I stand corrected and believe what you have are actually hydroids. I thought for the longst time they were just small genertic dusters. Oh wel!!!

When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend and they are. They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done. The prayer you sent up has been answered and now it is time to move on.

Re: Are these Hydroids?

It does look like Hydroids, have you noticed a negative reaction from the neighboring Zoanthids ?

Re: Are these Hydroids?

They do seem kind of "cupped" to me.

The easiest way to remove them... frag the zoas and get rid of the rock they're on.

Re: Are these Hydroids?

They are Stining Hydroids, as in Myrionema sp and are pests, usually.

Maybe stick polyps? I have some in brown, they don't seem to bother anything!

Re: Are these Hydroids?

That is not impossible Kate they could be. I should of asked 'how big are these" I thought about stkicks and then said no. They only grow on the tubes of the worm Eunice tibiana. Maybe Dobe will have more to add.

Here is some info on them...

They are really tiny - they definitetly aren't stick polyps I've had those before (they were eaten by a blenny)
