ID please...

Its amazing what comes out when the lights go off. These things were attracted to light. There are some bright blue ones, and some red ones.

Nitrate (NO3) reduction is directly proportional to percentage of Water Change.
Allen's home-made formula...(-NO3=WC%)
This means if you change 50% of your total water volume (That's EVERYTHING) you'll get a net reduction of (NO3) somewhere around 50%.

Ask me about how to increase your REEF budget without going without FOOD!!

Re: ID please...

Could they be Lancelets? They look a little more long and skinny than what Daniel had. And they didn't seem to be sitting on the glass.

Re: ID please...

I have to disagree on the shrimp. Once in a while they would stop on the glass, and they look like mini bristle worms, but swim! I have baby mysid shrimp all over the place, and these look nothing like them. they are like a flat looking worm of sorts, and squiggle to swim. Very efficent swimmers though! Baby shrimp are usually white. These guys are red, and blue, and have no visible eyes like a baby shrimp.

These are in the water column most of the time. I can move the light from one end of the tank, 6 feet to the other end, and they follow it rapidly. They only stop on the glass for a second or so, then back in the water column...
