| Reef Addict (hopeless) ![]() | Critter on glass... I have seen these now and again on my glass but never had the camera handy when I did. They look like a small space ship with two forward pointing protrusions. They are VERY mobile and move quicker than you'd ever think. Roughly the size of 1/2 grain of rice or smaller. ![]() ![]()

| Over Achiever | Re: Critter on glass... Al, I've heard of others using Flatworm Exit with success. When you get your 90 set up you may want to consider not moving anything from this tank to it unless your sure the flatworms are erradicate. Christopher, I do have a 20, it's a flower in the basement. I have a pair of Harlequin shrimps and some coral frags that I moved there from my main tank. It has not fish and is really nothing to look at. Just a frag tank kind of. |

| Reef Addict (hopeless) ![]() | Re: Critter on glass... Thanks Scott. I'll HAVE to do something because ALL of the LR in this tank is eventually destined for the 90g tank.

| Golden Moray ![]() | Re: Critter on glass... Yes they are flatworms, however not the ones that reach plague proportions. The white flatworms are totally harmless and will usually go away on their own. The red flatworms, planaria sp, are the ones that reach plague proportions and are a PITA to get rid of. Flat Worms

| Just Mike for short | Re: Critter on glass... Most species of flatworm are harmless. They can grow in numbers enough to choke out the coraline on LR, but most dont bother anything. They are sustained by the organic load, usually through feeding fish and inverts. Most reef tanks have a few at least and I have seen some overwhelmed, but in the end the populations died out and kept in check. One excellent fish for keeping them in check in a 6-lined wrasse, but you have to be careful abotu feeding the wrasse other foods or it will become lazy if well fed and stop hunting the flatworms. Keep your feeding down to a min., do regular water changes and use an airline hose placed into a bucket (so you can put the water back) with a fine net or filter and syphon off the ones you see everyday and in no time they will dissapear.
