| Golden Moray | They are aggressive little stinkers and they grow fast. They are usually very nocturnal but will occassional wander out during the day. They will kill snails, shrimp, fish as they get larger. Take it to the LFS if you don't have a sump. If you have a sand bed, I would make sure the plastic rim is touching the glass on the bottom and not just sitting on sand.

| Tubeworm | nice catch in the other thread nikki! this guy was in a rock that was in our bathtub (long story, don't ask.. just thankful that the wife allowed it! heck, HER idea!) we had to poke him out too, but the hole he was in went in and out of the rock, so it was a 5 minute hunt to find the rock he was on (one rock in ~180 lbs) and 2 min to get him out. hey curtswearing: what do you mean by the glass on the bottom and not just sitting on sand? my fuge will be 17" tall, 6" of sand and the 17" tall wall is weldon 4'ed and 16'ed to the plexiglass. and roger that on eating shrimp as he gets larger. he's outta here! | Tubeworm | THE SAGA LIVES!! ok, so this little guy freaked out my wife, Mrs. Who Dah?. This is unusual. she's a nurse in training, works at the hostpital, see's nasty stuff alll the time. her hands are always in the tank when needed, not afraid to touch stuff. heck, last week, she moved a 5G bucket that had bees wax in it and about 50 bee's flying around all over it. freaked me out! at any rate, we knew taht little bugger was in the rock, in the bathtub. so we looked at each piece and she would poke in the holes w/ some long tweezers. well, the hole moved! she dropped the rock and screamed! so, she really didn't like that little crab! even now it gives her the willies... you, "wait... EVEN NOW whodah? you still have it?" me, "yup! ok, so we decided to give happy a treat! (our huma huma trigger). popped him in the agressive tank. he took snaps at the crab all the way down! crab hit the ground. crawled to a rock. happy kept nipping at him, but aparently was missing or brushing off his shell. the crab crawled to a rock, not hidden, just adjacent. happy looked at him, and i swear said 'screw it', and then swam off. so, he's now in the agressive tank somewhere..." so, end of that story for now. he lives, in the agressive tank. ill have to take him out before he gets large, but i'll be re-doing/upgrading that tank in the near future anyways.. but... now all the rock is in my 240 soon-to-be reef. the dust has just settled and i was messing w/ my newly aquired tunze pump. it kicked up sand like crazy so you can't see through the tank again. low and behold.. right in FRONT.. ANOTHER !@#%@# CRAB!!!! this one is twice as large! just chillin on the sandbed, 3" from the closest rock. a buddy called me on the phone when i noticed it. said, "i gotta call u back, gonna try and get this bugger while i can see him!" well... where do u think this story is going? did i get him? do i have to lay a trap? do i have to drain the tank? ... ... if you guessd, "you got him who dah?!" then you are right!! i reached in there w/ those 2 foot plastic grabber thingies, very slowly, then... PINCH! i got him! drug him out. he's now in a cup on top of the tank. how lucky was that?! now the question: how many more are there? <spooky x-files music here> this one i'm taking to the LFS... ![]() cya! |

| Plate Coral ![]() | Wow, good catch! I'm surprised that your trigger didn't get the first one, but you never know, it may just take some time. Did you ever find that Tonga branching rock you were looking for to put in the new tank?
