Jelly Fish??!

So here is a picture i drew and a small description. The size is hard to get across to you. Take a ball point pen. Tis guy is about as small as the ball of that pen. I have a small pocket microscope and my friends called me EagleEyes so you get the idea of how i found it. I think it is a baby of some kind and i know the anemone has a stage like this in the early juvenile period. I found a reall small one at work. I am not sure that it was mature enough to become sexual. Anyone have some ideas? They came in, i think on the Chaeto that i got which i just put into my main display. The only other explaination is that they came in on the Astrea or Nassarius snails i had bought or the small anemones. I hope it turns the right direction, this is the first time i have used the scanner on our new printer. Of course, the file size is too big. Give me a second. The best description is a baby jellyfish.

Re: Jelly Fish??!

I think your right. There are a lot ofdifferent kinds, i dont know this one and it looks like i have the medusa stage. There will be a polyp stage sooner or later.

Re: Jelly Fish??!

So from the awesome link that Catalyst gave, it appears more like i have a hydroid which will turn into polyps in time. Thanks! If someone else thinks they have a better idea as to what it is i would be happy to hear it.

Re: Jelly Fish??!

I see the polyps in my tank too. I tried to take a pic for you but they're too small...or the shrimp is a camera hog. They almost look like fur. They are on the underside of a rock. About 1/8" or less.

ummmm, I didn't copy the picture, I just put an image link in. Is that legal? Should I remove the picture links? (copyright question)

I'll of course leave the copyright question to the mods/admin, but do have to say that using photos outside of copyrighted websites is a no-no ....lol

Even though this site went to the site containing the copyrighted picture to present it to the viewer?

The only issue I could see with my post was that I didn't also provide a link to the page containing the picture but I'm also not a lawyer so if you have to question the legality of a post then don't post it.

I knew that...

Sorry mods/admins...

Re: Jelly Fish??!

Oh i love office space!!! Oh you have no idea how awesome of an aquarium i could create at work.... oh it would bring you to your knees.. we have faucets that give us DO water and there is Sodium Chloride so we could formulate our own special types of salt mixes.. but alas we use instant ocean anyways. Oh well though. Id like a big enough tank so that i could snorkel in my own reef like in my backyard. Wouldnt that be cool? Is someone doing that with a pool?
