Re: Jelly Fish??!

They have currently settled and when they grow larger, I will take a pic of them to post here. There are tons of little white dots on the rocks. I have to do something about cyano before i do that though.

Re: Jelly Fish??!

Very cool pics. I believe (not a lawyer either) that if you post the site where the pic came from you are ok. I know RS is not too picky on such things but giving the originating site credit is nice even if not legally required.
Meanwhile I look forward to lots of cool pics of the itty bitty guys we have in our tanks.

Oh and whatever Boomer said I agree with.

Re: Jelly Fish??!

Posting a copy writed (sp?) pic is "allowable" as long as you give credit and reference back to the originator. In fact most "owners" like this because it gives their "property" more exposure. With the advent of forums and message boards it's become a lot more "tolerable" that it used to be to use copy writed material in the post. What's a BIG no no is using this same material in a personal or commercia web-page without exact permission from the owner. Like you can't use pictures from My website in your personal site (legally) without my permission. Does this make sense or am I once again talking in circles?

Allen's home-made formula...(-NO3=WC%)
This means if you change 50% of your total water volume (That's EVERYTHING) you'll get a net reduction of (NO3) somewhere around 50%.

Re: Jelly Fish??!

Yeah yeah that makes perfect sense, its like erasing the name of an authored book and just adding your name in their place. BUT if you tell everyone who wrote the book then use some of his/her content to make your point, alls good. If you site your resources especially for info you are telling people here, you should obviously have the good character to do the same for pictures. (I think im gonna take some pics at the beginning of one of my other threads down after all this talk..)

Everyone tells me i look like Toby McGuire. Maybe ill get some glasses and take a picture. I dont ever see what people are talking about..lol I enjoyed the nickname of spiderman through high school.

Re: Jelly Fish??!

FYI on the image thing... yeah, someone who took the pic or drew it could come after you if you used it without permission... but quoting the source after it's already published pretty much covers your a@#. And once it's in the "public arena" it's tough for the originator to fight, and it's tough to prove that permission was or was not given if it's verbal.

Helped start an online newspaper and had to go through all that with online publishing. Helped that one of the co-owners was a lawyer.

Re: Jelly Fish??!

Thanks Kathy! I am in the habit of quoting papers but not photos. Id probably just give a little sentence about whose it is and where i found it. Would that suffice? Or perhaps a website link under the picture?

Beezlebub, you like a good crab and escargo dish huh? Ive heard of people hating crabs, but why snails?
