Tell me about this guy...

I saw him this morning. He's tiny, that's my turbo snail next to him. Tell me about him.

He is a harmless mini brittle star that feeds off of ditritus. They stay small.

I have them ALL over my rock. Here is a pic of one that was crawling on the front glass. It is probably 1/2- 3/4" long from tip to tip.

I wish you were closer vdituri. I could give you as many as you want since I have thousands in my seahorse tank and fuge.

Most aren't in the sand. They are in the LR and the beck chamber of the Aquapod. When I feed the seahorses you see thousands of little arms waving all over the place. I am sure I have so many because of the way I feed the seahorses. Since they eat so slowly there is plenty of extra food that they don't grab in time.
I'll try to get a pic this weekend but I am not sure how well it will show the tiny arms. I have several pics of individual ones on the glass. I have some that are totally white but most are dark and light striped. When I change out the filter floss in the back I pick them out and out them in the fuge so there are lots there as well.

Up for an experiment in "Critter" transport? I was wondering since they are more or less scavengers if they would make it through shipping via USPS 2/3rd day travel. If so, they could be bagged with some left overs and shipped very easily. If you're interested in a "Test Run" PM Me

i have a ton of those in my tank also. i never see them out and about. all i ever see are little arms hanging out of holes.
