Re: Sand hills in my reef...

I have a powder Blue tang that moves sand around a little bit. But he has never made his own mountain.LOL

nervous? no. We have one in our 90 reef and it does minimal damage. We see hills from time to time but usually all we here is a loud clicking sound to announce his presence.

They are great hitchikers, so you may have one....

Re: Sand hills in my reef...

I'm with the Pistol shrimp crew, I smooth out the hills and he has them back by morning. I would watch to and see if there are small pieces of coral or debris around any cave openings. Pistols like to decorate their burrows.

Good luck on the camp out! Tie a string to a small piece of shrimp ... put it in the valley ... tie that string to bell and your big toe. Keep the camera on your stomach and a red light in your mouth while you sleep. You can have a pillow too if you must

Sand storm?

I caught a 3 stripe damsel doing a tail flick to cause a dust cloud to eat from, but I don't think he has a favorite spot.

When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend and they are. They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done. The prayer you sent up has been answered and now it is time to move on.

That was too funny! I hate to admit how much that cracked Me up! I can just see a GIANT Pistol Shrimp grabbing the "Bait" and off a foot goes into the tank, flash light almost swallowed and the bell ringing like crazy!

Allen's home-made formula...(-NO3=WC%)
This means if you change 50% of your total water volume (That's EVERYTHING) you'll get a net reduction of (NO3) somewhere around 50%.

Ask me about how to increase your REEF budget without going without FOOD!!

Re: Sand hills in my reef...

Ok, I THINK it was my Lawnmower Blennie, I keep seeing him come and lay in that spot, but he's not digging, maybe after a few days of me putting the sand back he got the message (that's an unsettling thought)...OK 'Squatchy, this has been bugging me since you posted, who is Leon?...

Re: Sand hills in my reef...

There's a lot of Canadian things I don't understand...Like, why do mountys use horses when there are perfectly good Yeti's that will piggy Back 'em...?
