| Tridacna maxima ![]() | Re: Fish ID Please Travis - I bought them. jg - I'll have to look those up and get back with you on that...According to Live Aquaria, the cave goby only grows to 1-2 inches. These are more like 3 inches...Also, they don't really hide in holes, just hang out on the bottom sometimes by rock, but mostly just on the bottom someplace. nervoustime - They aren't diamondback gobies, I have had those before.

| Dragon Moderator ![]() | Re: Fish ID Please If that's what they have on the website, it's completely wrong. There is no possible way that fish pictured is a dottyback. Dottybacks only have one dorsalfin and their eyes are located in a completely different part of their head. The pectoral fins on the fish you have is a lot larger and more ridgid then those found in Dottybacks as well. Dottybacks are also mostly midwater swimmers, not bottom dwellers. It's definately a goby and one that Boomer posted looks to be it.

| Tridacna maxima ![]() | Re: Fish ID Please Thanks Cougra, I agree that there is no way this is a dottyback of any kind - I just didn't take the time to think through the basics last night. It's a goby for sure.
