Angry algea type?

I need help with this algea. What type and how to kill it? I got it from a lfs on a coral frag . Thats the third time this has happend with my local lfs's. The other time i took all my live rock out and boiled it in hot water so it was dead then. I wont buy from a lfs anymore im tired of there ****ty products. Is there any types of medication that can speed up getting this stuff out of my tank?

Re: algea type?

Need a clearer pic but kinda looks like hair algae, you can get fish to eat it... What size tank do you have?

Re: algea type?

If it is hair algae you could get a foxface and they will clean it right up!

Re: algea type?

We need a better pic before we can ID it. I would remove the rock and scrub the algae off.
