What is this crazy lookin thing?

This brown disc looking thing was on this rock when I got it but it was about half the size was much less colorful and for the most part looked dead. I notice today looking back at old pics how much it has grown and colored Any idea what it is? It doesnt get much light due to my crazy super size blue anthelia that is growing above it...
Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?

Looks like a dried up carrot... Wish I was more helpful! Is it soft?

Thanks Fish. I can only find tiny pictures of it but it looks like you nailed it! I cant find much info on it maybe i should dremove it. Now I need to find a crusty sea hare to eat it.
