sad news today... came home to see my healthy and eating copper band butterfly stuck to the vortech pump Dang I am so upset about this...
I can't wait to get a closed loop next time..

That stinks. Do you think the pump killed it or that it died and got sucked to the pump? I had mine suck up a couple of fish, but they got away. I can see a broad bodied fish like a CBB not being able to free itself. Vortechs are strong. I e-mailed Ecotech when I had a problem and they said they would consider redesigning the propeller housing. You should e-mail them with your concerns. They are not fish friendly!

thats the drawback to high flow internal pumps. sometimes a fish gets drawn in and cant get loose. they soon tire and succumb. sorry for the loss.

well life has been busy with a baby on the way.... but i had time for a few purchases....

I got a new fish yesterday...



and I have some big Tank news... I mean big...

I have a new tank coming soon...
96"x30"x30" with Starphire front glass...

I will start a new thread when the tank gets here.... and will end this thread soon...
