Re: 300gal. Tenecor project

Thanks, Wit.

I'd have no problems hiring a contractor, but if I can do it on my own (I have 9 years construction experiance), I'd rather just do it myself. There's no electrical on that wall, so I wont have to worry about wiring, etc.

The main thing I'm worried about is if I ever move, I'd have to tear the wall out again, just to get the tank out.

just get some beer and a sawzall. what could go wrong?j/k
definetly hire a licensed contractor to do the wall. it doesnt look like too terrible of a job.

Re: 300gal. Tenecor project

with 9 yrs experience it shouldnt be a big deal to diy it. just put it back together knowing you might have to remove it again, screws instead of nails, etc.

Re: 300gal. Tenecor project

you might just want to make an outside access door if you have room outside it would probably add value to your house too and you can remove your tank without tearing the wall down

Re: 300gal. Tenecor project

There's no way I could add an outside access...I have no where to do it. I live in a townhouse, not a regular house, with a yard and stuff.

I've been so busy with work, lately, that I havent even had time to think about this. Unfortunately, I think it'll be quite a long time before the project gets off the ground, with the way work has been lately...I've been working 14 hour days, 6 days a week.

On a better note, I may be moving into a 2200sq. ft., 2 bedroom loft. 13" thick, exposed, concrete floors and the realtor said there's a guy on the 3rd floor that has a 450gal. tank, with no problems, so my 200gal, 210gal. and 300gal. would be easy to do.

Brian, most things are easy for you to do One day I'm gonna have you come over and help me plumb a LARGE sump under my tank (in the crawl space).... we could hook the ro/di up as an auto top off too.... ohhh the fun we would have!

Re: 300gal. Tenecor project

Would it be possible to remove the wall and instead of rebuilding it use a railing in it's place?

Re: 300gal. Tenecor project

good suggestion. would help with ventilation as well as opening up the finished basement to feel more like livible space of the house,,,,but it might be his mancave for hiding and solitude,,,lol
