Updates!

I just got done drilling some holes and now this tank will start to move along nicely! I had to buy a bit for just 4 holes. Cost me $4 a hole! Anyone need drilling I will do it for that price. It will go down for every hole I drill though! I did not have any problems and it was much quicker and easier than I thought.

Now I just have to plumb it. I will be putting my overflow box over the hole on the bottom of the tank and of course when all is said and done I will check for leaks.

I'm looking to add a sump to my 55 someday. I just have to find the right person for the job, I wouldn't know where to start.

I can't wait to see how yours turns out. I'm glad the drilling turned out the way you wanted!

Very nice looking tank Rodger ! What are the dimensions of the tank ?

For a 55 gal I would seriously consider going with 150 HQI or 175 w Moguls, otherwise your looking at some serious heat issues with the 250's without a chiller IMO fans won't be enough. I have one 250w MH bulb and was having difficulty maintaining the temp below 86 degrees and I live in the northeast.

I have 175x2 and vho 110x2 with 2 fans on my 55 and had issues with the temp over the summer (82-84). I started running an 8 hour photo period versus 12 hours and solved most of the problem. My temp runs 80-81 now.

Did you just reduce the photo period or did you add fans or a chiller?
