| Manta Ray | hey everyone i just got my scan disk. i know about time. so lets see this is my fist time posting pics so we will see how it goes. had to shrink them and i dont have photo shop or anything, not that i know about anyway. lets see i guess we should start with the sump. its a old 45gal long tank. these are picks of the creation. i left 10gal overflow area incase power outage till i could go buy some one way valves. its changed now all sump area. |

| Manta Ray | Re: my new tank yeah it worked. the images are not as good but hey there there ok some more sump picks. before i got any thing i let it run for 2 weeks fresh water. then 2 weeks salt water only. i like useing the bio balls collects lots stuff easy to syphon later. i exchange them out every two weeks. did make some adjustment since these picks. |

| Manta Ray | Re: my new tank ok last one for now i will try to figure this pic sizing thing out and post some more. this is what it is like today. started with T8 light but switch to a T5 18watt 10k. also took out some of the balls and compacted them down a little. work just as good less resistance for the flow though. two pumps used here one 1200gph sedra(best pump ever) and a 600gph pump. had to take apart the stand a little to fit the sump, but it fit o so nicely. gave the stand a nice paint job. currently tanks been up for 4 months. well get more pic's later so until then be seeing ya. |

| Manta Ray | Re: my new tank well this is my first time using it. but its basically a modified Jaubert method. unskimmed too. release trace minerals. so far so good with out adding anything Ca+ was 380-390. dkh was 9-10. now i am going for the coraline so adding now. well we see. have not tested Mg or Iodine but coraline is going good. needs a high flow rate though. and 24/7 lighting. for the mud not macro. i knocked out the teeth around over here is my over flow. adding pics as i sort through them. |

| Manta Ray | Re: my new tank ahh those look good on the real pic i need to figure out how to reduce them. i now know how to do it when i take the pic now but i have been taking pic for the past 4 months with the big size image. 2272x1704 goes down to 640x480 so newer pic will be good. soon as i figure it out will post picks of the actual tank ![]() |

| Manta Ray | Re: my new tank the rocks are just put in there so max circulation goes all around them. just getting the coralline going now. the tank is 72x18x20" with sump total water volume is 150gal(measured) and 165lbs of LR(yes wieghed). current lighting is only 2 40watt T12's 1 day bulb 20k and one atinic. i put the new rock on top, these pics where one month apart getting good coraline growth. orange red green and purple. 4-300gph powerheads plus the 1200gph and 600gph pumps for water movement in the display tank. so about 3000gph turnover= 20x. |
