Craig: well we like to have fun! I will be in most of the week in the morning. So that would be the best time. Suppose to have the new lights in so K and I will be working on that. Let me know what works for you.

Cheers!

Powerhead Placement Advice:

I just picked up 2 2100 GPH powerheads for our tank since we are so "undercirculated". Take a look at post #84 and look at the full tank shot. Any suggestions where to put them?

My thinking was in the back on the far left and back far right of the tank.

Thanks!

Cheers!

Thanks Woody! Neither do you by always providing one of the first responses( Like your new avitar by the way..)!

My error on the powerheads. They are 692 GPH and after doing some research on our pumps they are more around 1000 GPH. That give us roughly (once I get the new power heads in today or tomorrow) a turnover of 13 times per hour. This is much better!

Cheers!

Angle the power heads from each back corner diaganally to the middle of the front glass. Place them so the flow is above your rock work. You are one rockin' reefer Rodg!

Weekly Update:

New pictures of the tank reaquascaped (left, right, full tank shot).

We have placed in new power heads as you can see in the picture and the rearrangement of rock is hoped to increase our tank flow.

New lights should be in this week (2 36" 250 watt MHs). We are going to hang them from the ceiling with hooks and chains...on a piece of wood.

Tested Ca levels and we are 540ppm. A bit high but I also have the same situtation in my home tank. I have tested the KH at home - 143ppm. We need to get an alkalinity test kit to compare to the Ca levels. (I had to order it).

Comments and suggestions are always welcome!

Cheers!

Rodger, I just scrolled through this thread so I could compare the new scaping with the old and I must say, I like what you've done!! It is giving me ideas for my tank when I replace the rock this fall... Thanks!

Thanks Woody!

Hoping Craig pipes in on this update. Curious to see what Ca levels he has in his tank.

Cheers!

Thanks Kim and Gina!

Humm...Slight cloudiness to the tank since we redid it. You can see it a bit in yesterday's pictures. I am wondering what this may be due to. Maybe it is still settling?

Cheers!

Patience young Jedi It is probably the tiny particles of sand still settling. Try wiping the inside of the glass too; there could be dust settled on it making the water appear more cloudy.
