Thanks KiM, Woody and Craig!

Sounds good Craig. I will do some "homework" on that species!

Looks like you have a very exciting project on the go. I'll bet you can't wait to get back to school to get things going on the tank again Those kids are really lucky to have such a dedicated teaching staff willing to set up a tank. I know at the Highschool I went to, none of the teachers would dare to put something like that in a class room because kids would have ruined it before it even got off the ground.

I like the idea of leaving the tank run for the summer with very little in it. I think it'll make things easier as you add a more mature/stable tank.

Do you have any sort of Marine Club in the area where you can get less expensive frags from local hobbyists once you get the lighting upgraded? What kind of tank is it going to be softy, LPS, SPS?? do you have a target stocking list or are you going figure things out as you go?

Thanks Michelle.

Well one of the dedicated RS staff lives here too...Craig!

He has just donated some frags. I have had offers from others too. I do not have anything here I am aware of in my city.

I am going to have the students decide as we go along. They are going to learn about it and do the research on them. Most likely - LPS, SPS, softies, inverts, fish..Reef tank!

Cheers!

More Updates

Well I have to give the credit where credit is due! These are the palythoas that Craig graciously gave to us! Thanks again Craig! They seem to be doing quite well and are happy. Students really like them too!

Another photo I shot this morning. Sorry if it is not so clear! Had to do it rather quick and did not have time to turn off my flash.

Hermit crab party with snails anyone?

Also: New lights are on order 2 x 250 watt MH set ups and should be here Tuesday. We are also working on the cooling problem too!

This tank is going to be a hit!
Cheers!

You are welcome Rodger, great shots! Yes, they are great colonizers and they host my clown fish. Who needs an anemone, eh?
