Question:

Does anyone have any recommendations on some books I can get for our tank at school (fish, inverts ect.)?

I am sure I can find some that are lesson based (I would prefer these). If anyone is aware of these that would be great too!

Cheers!

Corals - John Tullock (Barron's books) about $10 lots of pics/93 pages/
would be great for class rm.

Corals - James W. Fatherree (tfh publications inc.) about $12 136
pages/lots of information from setup to corals.
Would be real good for class room.

These two books are not very expensive and have more infromation per page than the more expensive books. easy lesson plans could be developed from these. hope something here helps

Re: School Tank Progress

Updates!

Well the school year is quickly closing in! Tank is almost where I would like it.

I spent the morning addressing our skimmer issues. I shortened the tubing on our skimmer (See Post#127). It seems to have helped quite a bit. I will also be changing over to PVC tubing (may have the students do this).

I also added a CPR Bak Pak in sump skimmer w/1200 maxjet pump. I had to go with this one because it was simple to put in and one of the only ones that would fit without having to cut the acrylic on the sump.

I will post some pictures tomorrow! Comments or suggestions as always!

Cheers!

Updates!

Well we have finally put in the chiller! We will have to play with the temperature, but finally we are ready for the students!

School is starting on Monday and I will keep you all posted. It may take a few weeks to get everything up and running with them...here we go!

Cheers!

Re: School Tank Progress

great setup always a cool thing when you get students involved
and another good book for looking at a variety of fish to choose from is Marine Fishes by Scott W. Michael...i've been using that book since the time i got my first tank
not really a good book to learn from but excellent to choose fish from
